Matchweek 25 in the Bundesliga delivered two major upsets as Bochum shocked Bayern Munich and Werder Bremen stunned Bayer Leverkusen.

Two big surprises for top of the league

Relegation-threatened Bochum pulled off a stunning comeback to beat Bayern Munich 3-2 at the Allianz Arena. Bayern started strong and took a 2-0 lead with goals from Guerreiro in the 14th and 28th minutes. Bochum hit back quickly, with Medic scoring in the 31st minute to make it 2-1. Just before halftime, Bayern’s Palhinha was shown a red card, leaving the hosts with ten men. Bochum took advantage in the second half. Sissoko equalized in the 51st minute, and Bero completed the comeback with a 71st-minute strike. Bayern pushed for an equalizer, but Bochum held on for a famous win.

Werder Bremen produced another big shock, beating Bayer Leverkusen 2-0 away from home. Bremen, struggling in recent weeks, took the lead through Schmid in the 7th minute. Njinmah sealed the win with a goal in stoppage time (90+4), handing Bremen a much-needed three points.

Augsburg Stun Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park

Augsburg handed Borussia Dortmund a surprise 1-0 defeat at Signal Iduna Park. Despite dominating possession and creating several chances, Dortmund couldn’t find a way through Augsburg’s defense. The visitors struck late to take all three points, leaving the home fans disappointed.

Despite the defeat, Bayern remain top of the table with 61 points, while Leverkusen stay second with 53 points. Bochum’s win lifts them to 20 points, but they remain in the relegation zone alongside Holstein Kiel (17 points) and Heidenheim (16 points).
